{"product_id":"a-patched-length-of-homespun-cotton-kasuri-tamba","title":"A Patched Length of Homespun Cotton Kasuri: Tamba","description":"\u003cp\u003eca. late nineteenth, early twentieth century\u003cbr\u003e62 1\/2\" x 14\", 158.75 cm x 35.5 cm\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe Japanese speak of \u003ci\u003eito aji\u003c\/i\u003e, or \"thread taste\" when describing a wonderful cotton cloth that is hand woven from hand spun cotton.  This piece of hand woven cotton \u003ci\u003ekasuri \u003c\/i\u003ecloth is a rich in \u003ci\u003eito aji\u003c\/i\u003e--and it has a marvelous provenance.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis cloth was said to have been woven in Tamba, in Hyogo prefecture, which is home to the famous Tambafu, a country cloth of a cotton warp and a \u003ci\u003etsumugi \u003c\/i\u003esilk weft that has become very much associated with Yanagi Soetsu and his Mingei movement.  Tambafu is deeply treasured in Japan; it is one of the most precious traditional, rural textiles.\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe indigo of this length of crisp white resist dyed checks is a deep blue-black.  There is one small hole and 7 patches along the length of the wonderfully woven, very gorgeous piece of cloth from Tamba.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eBeautiful.\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"Sri","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":68158739054781,"sku":"gub1793955777818","price":73.15,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0777\/5053\/4333\/files\/a-patched-length-of-homespun-cotton-kasuri-tamba_1.jpg?v=1793955783","url":"https:\/\/mileskeenstore.shop\/products\/a-patched-length-of-homespun-cotton-kasuri-tamba","provider":"My Store","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
